Constructing My Advert

Constructing My Offer

To begin making my newspaper i started with the offer at the top, I have chosen to use Indesign to make my newspaper because it is accessible at school and has the best range of effects.

Once i had got used to the basic idea of indesign, i began the construction of my offer by making a layer and labelling it as the background. Then i had to consider a colour that would relate to the target audience, due to the nature of the business (hairdressing) my target audience is mostly going to be females so i went for a stereotypical female colour of pale purple.

After deciding to use a pale purple background i used the square tool to create a square to particular size i needed. (TOOL BAR EDITED) Then i goggled the colour that i wanted my offer to become and saved a square of pale purple in the media server. Then i went on indesign and placed the image on the area were i wanted to place my offer.

Then i had to see what font to use, because my target audience is going to be females that like a good appearance which is why they would get their hair done i thought that the font must look good to appeal to them.

DO SAMPLE WITH CHART

After deciding the font i have to get a text box and place it into the area where i wanted it. I have already divided my page into four separate columns and would like my text to go in the middle and therefore placed the text over the two middle columns.

I used larger text for the name of the business so readers were aware of the service they provide and if they like it then they can look in to the opportunity they have to get discount.

When i was at this point i investigated back through the offers that i collected through my research and decided that my offer looked more like a conventional advert. Therefore i thought i would be best to change my hairdressing offer into an advert for a mobile hairdresser instead.

Then i had a brain wave and decided that i would do an offer for a new car which will promote and draw attention to the motor pages at the back of my newspaper.

Turning my Offer Into My Advert

To turn my offer into my advert i allocated a space on the fourth column on the bottom. I had to move the square and reshape it to fit the area i had given my advert. When doing this i also renamed the layer so i would not get confused when constructing my offer.

I then had to do the same with the text on my offer but due to the fact of the advert being a different shape i had to move the text around so it would be able to fitted in. I still wanted my text to be in the centre of my advert because that is the most important piece of information.
